Summary
A brilliant and dogged young trial lawyer in San Francisco risks everything he holds dear to bring the most dangerous legal adversary in town to justice.
Down on his luck after a string of lost cases and a recent divorce, personal injury lawyer Matt Taylor hopes his next trial will be an easy win. But when he meets a devastatingly injured young man desperate for help, Matt finds himself embroiled in an impossible lawsuit against Salvatore Conte, a powerful lawyer with sinister connections. Despite all warnings, Matt courageously pulls out all the stops to uncover the truth and right a horrific legal wrong. What follows is an epic multi-million-dollar battle of wills, intrigue, and outright violence that could cost Matt everything he cares about - his career, his family, his heart...and his life.

Move over JG
One of the best stories I’ve listened to in a long time. The story was good, the narration was good. The end was thought through and still kept me captivated as to what the out come would be.
Shame it’s only one book so far. This would make a brilliant series.

Mixed bag
The story was ok, courtroom bits were best parts. Overlong and at times a bit confused. Maybe tried to include too much. Loose ends. Narration was strange not terrible just odd delivery. As a freebie worth a try, would not have wanted to use a credit on it.

Brilliant Legal Novel
One of the best legal plots I have come across on Audible - and I have listened to lots!
Great narration - excellent characterisation - Roger Wayne is definitely one of the best US male narrators - his female characters are exceptionally believable.
I hope there will be more from this author.

Courtroom Drama
I’ve read/listen to quite a few court room dramas, ie: John Grisham, Michael Stagg, I suggest you stick with this one to the very end.
(I nearly didn’t due to the Jackie Collins type episode, which got on my nerves, sex/romance full detail was unnecessary I my opinion) Anyway moving on,when it finally got into the nitty gritty of the legal case I was glad I stuck with it, I’ll say no more for fear of a spoiler alerts. Enjoy!

Very good
I made an assumption that cout room stories would not be interesting. Recently I discovered this is not the case. This book again showed me my previous opinion was wrong. I recommend it.

Legal
Caught me at outset. Couldn't stop listening although could have done without the descriptive love making which I thought was just there to pad out content. I really like these court room drama books. Great narration.

Dull, will be returning this one.
Absolutely love a good courtroom thriller and have nearly exhausted all the John Grisham & Mark Gimenez novels so thought it was about time to discover some new authors, sadly this just isn’t one.
It warrants 2 stars as I have stuck with it for 7 hours but I can bear no more, don’t get me wrong I like a good 14 hour book when the story is compelling & the narration is good (I like to get my money’s worth). In truth this probably just needs some drastic editing as the main storyline has promise but there has just been too much of the romantic sub plot and tedious details that are unnecessary for moving the story along, in my opinion.
Roger Wayne’s narration is okay but a bit soporific for my liking & for this type of book, it doesn’t really add any tension that might have helped me persevere to the end.
Sadly I will be returning this one.
