Summary
Brought to you by Penguin.
This Penguin Classic is performed by Luke Thompson, best known for his role in the hit Netflix drama Bridgerton. This definitive recording includes an introduction by David McDuff.
The murder of brutal landowner Fyodor Karamazov changes the lives of his sons irrevocably: Mitya, the sensualist, whose bitter rivalry with his father immediately places him under suspicion for parricide; Ivan, the intellectual, driven to breakdown; the spiritual Alyosha, who tries to heal the family's rifts; and the shadowy figure of their bastard half-brother, Smerdyakov. Dostoyevsky's dark masterwork evokes a world where the lines between innocence and corruption, good and evil, blur and everyone's faith in humanity is tested.
Translated with an introduction and notes by David McDuff.

Classic
Since I read Crime and Punishment prior to Karamazov Brothers I expected something slightly different but it turned out quite the same as far as the theme goes. Suspense in Crime and Punhsiment in which reader has been held is unparalleled. And that is what makes F.D. one of the greatest writers in history of literature.

A living performance
The narrator's performance was astonishing, and some scenes are like listening to a theatrical performance - so vivid was each character, The heated exchanges in key scenes were bought to life in such an engaging way. Fascinating novel if you share an interest in theology and philosophy.

Outstanding performance
This reading, and particular translation, of Dostoyevsky’s greatest novel is quite simply exquisite. If you feel intimidated at the prospect of delving into this 1000 page masterpiece, I highly recommend trying this version, it is quite addictive listening.

What an amazing reading
The reading of this book by Luke Thompson is nothing short of incredible. Each character comes totally to life as the tragedy and comedy - sometimes at the same time - are painted in so many wonderful colours. If there were academy awards for reading, Thompson here wins in all categories.

Great performance of a great book
just wanted to say that Luke Thompson is unbelievable. His performance of the characters is outstanding, and he deserves awards and plaudits. His evocation of Fyodor Karamazov is extremely memorable. He elevates a classic in world literature to even higher heights.
