Summary

A bone-shaking new trilogy begins – the latest adventure in the bestselling Skulduggery Pleasant series

SIX YEARS AGO, THE UNIVERSE ENDED.

When it restarted, blinking back into existence, it brought with it a darkness that remains hidden from the mortal population.

A week ago – fuelled by unimaginable hatred and unstoppable rage – a masked sorcerer killed one of those mortals. Then he killed another. And another.

With their time running out, Skulduggery Pleasant and Valkyrie Cain must work to solve the puzzles the killer leaves behind before more innocents die, embarking on a journey that will force them to deal with the apocalypse they failed to prevent the first time around.

AND MURDER. LOTS AND LOTS OF MURDER.

another good entry

slightly less humour than some of the better previous books and the mystery was a bit of a cheat but those gripes aside it was a genuinely good listen and I would still recommend it to anyone. Mr landy has set himself a very high bar and whilst this one is a bit below some of the previous books it's still an excellent listen. The narration as in all the previous entries is perfect.

One of the better recent Skullduggery books

A fun mystery, some good twists and turns and some of that classic Derek Landy witty diologue.

Brilliant story and build up

The amazing thing about this book is how it starts with a seemingly irrelevant murder and how that develops into a series of murders with an amazing plot. Meanwhile, you have another plot with Winter and the students of corival academy. Would absolutely recommend to anyone and am already eagerly anticipating the next book in the series!!!

Good but ending could have been better

The storyline line was good - it went back to a more simplistic plot however the ending was slightly overwhelming- its a murder mystery yet I felt you don’t quite get enough information to fully solve it yourself- the final chapters also gave it a twist that frankly wasn’t needed

Absolutely loved it, couldn’t stop reading.

Not sure why there has to be a 15 word minimum?

Mr Me's review

Skulduggery pleasant mindful of Madness is an excellent book which is unique character interactions and snappy dialogue, this captures the audience and wraps them in the world Magic. I only have one minor complaint about the ending being unsatisfying for the observant reader. what I mean by this is that Derek Landy doesn't give any sort of hint about psychic defences and what the rule of three can do for them. it could be that this was already previously mentioned in another book, if Derek did mention it in another book it was some incredible foreshadowing by himself but I don't believe so because this more than likely the first of three in this installment and I believe Derek is bringing new concepts such as magitech and the potential for other objects from other universes to come into this skull degrie pleasant universe that we all know and love. I hope Derek you keep on writing and you never stop regards Mr me. PS sorry about the bad punctuation I really hope you have big lungs.
